Johnnie Walker

As we begin 2010, we look back on ads that caught our attention in 2009.  This one for Johnnie Walker was recognized as being the best ad of 2009 by Creativity.  Enjoy!

The Editors hack Google Street View

By taking something that we all know and love, Google’s Street View, Editors take you around the streets of London that gave them in inspiration and material for the new album.  I think this is an awesome way of promoting the new stuff.  Take a gander at it and see what you think.

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

This nice little piece is what was played at the Frankfurt auto show last week to unveil the new roadster from Lamborghini.  What I think is astonishing is that with a price tag of 1.6 million US$, of the 20 built, there are only five reportedly left available.  I really dig the way they put all of the stats in there, illustrating just how unlikely it is that you would be able to get your hands on this wonderful machine seemly hand delivered to us from God himself.

Incredible, Amazing, Awesome!!!

As many of you have already seen, the latest Apple keynote address has been available for streaming.  Below is a cut down version that is just awesome!

The Return of Jay Leno

With the return of Jay Leno to the airwaves, I have found my distain for him resurrected.  Let’s be honest, his jokes are bad, his timing is off and he really doesn’t come off giving you the slightest impression that he wants to be there at any given point in time.  He always seems like it’s a bother for him to be talking with whomever he is talking with.  Something else that has really bothered me about Jay Leno is that he considers himself as carrying the torch of the greats like Ed Sulivan, Milton Berle, Jack Benny and  Johnny Carson.  To paraphrase Lloyd Bentson, sir, you are no Ed Sulivan.  I would have a certain modicum of respect for him if he attempted to learn from the greats and create something that is entirly his, something that he owns.  However, he’s just doing more of the same old Jay.  I was hoping that with this new time-slot that it would give way to a rebirth in variety television, back to the really great prime time unscripted, variety entertainment.  Turns out we simply got more of the tired, played out Jay Leno that we had before.  Now, I’ll admit that there has only been one show.  However to that point, if any of the new shows were going to be the ones to really mix it up with, to put your new self forward, this first one would have been it.  Mark missed.
